Rod Turner, West Midlands Chairman, Business for Sterling and the no campaign
We managed the campaign across the Midlands and outperformed all the agencies working on the campaign in other UK regions.
The campaign was spearheaded in the East Midlands by Next chief executive Simon Wolfson (now Lord Wolfson) and in the West Midlands by Rod Turner, chairman of Whale Tankers.
We managed numerous high profile events, including the launch of the no campaign itself which brought together Business for Sterling with Lord Owen’s New Europe, and advance screenings of national cinema ads featuring, among others, Bob Geldof.
The agency also handled recruitment to the midlands councils of the campaigns as well as fundraising, coordinating a group of almost 100 business leaders.
