NEWS RELEASE
REWARD FOR LEICESTERSHIRE INVESTORS
More than 100 business people gathered to celebrate their achievement last week, at one of the biggest Investors in People lunches this year.
Organised by Business Link for Leicestershire at the Hanover International Hotel in Hinckley, the celebratory event rewarded the 36 newly recognised companies, which included organisations from many sectors such as education, law and healthcare.
Guests were also treated to a lively presentation by renowned business speaker and writer Richard Denny. Author of titles including Motivate to Win, Communicate to Win and the UK best-seller Selling to Win, he is one of the foremost authorities on sales, management training, personal development and customer care and has worked with multinational corporations including BUPA and Microsoft.
His ability to inspire people to achieve more and perform better was in evidence as he explained the importance of teamwork and motivation for winning in business. He said, "To reach the top a team needs to work together and Investors in People is evidence of that".
There are now more than 25,000 businesses recognised as Investors in People across the country and over 1,000 in Leicestershire. Research has shown that following their accreditation, 80 per cent recorded increased customer satisfaction and 70 per cent improved productivity.
Nichola Coles, event manager at Business Link, said, "Businesses achieving Investors in People can expect to see improved planning, motivation and productivity from their workforce, contributing to an overall increase in competitive edge and profitability.
"The organisations here today should be proud of their achievement and I am sure we will see them sprinting ahead of the competition in the future."
