NEWS RELEASE
WINNING WAYS FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Inspiration and innovation were hailed as the winning combination at Business Link Lincolnshire & Rutland's Learning Conference last week.
Organised by the workforce development team to celebrate learning and promote communication and motivation in the workplace, the conference featured speeches and practical presentations from both national and local businessmen and gave business people the chance to talk to experts about their own training and development needs.
Workforce development manager Sally Walker, said, "As well as having the opportunity to discuss their options and plans for the future with us and other experts, delegates were also able to meet and learn from others in similar situations, giving them lots of ideas on how to develop both their business and their workforce."
Those attending also joined in the celebrations as five Lincolnshire companies were presented with their Investors in People awards. The credited companies were DGM Properties in Spalding, Little Brocklesby House near Grimsby, Care First (UK) Ltd in Horncastle, and Westminster Healthcare and EM Direct, both in Grantham. These latest awards take the total number of Investors in People organisations in Lincolnshire to 213.
Craig Delahoy, operations director at DGM properties, said, "As a company, and that includes all the staff as well as the directors, we felt a great sense of achievement at receiving the award and that feeling was re-enforced when we were invited by Business Link to the motivational evening at the Bentley Hotel to be presented with our award."
