WOMEN LEARN HOW TO KEEP SAFE
Personal safety will be high on the agenda at the next meeting of the Business Women's Link for Leicestershire networking group on August 15.
The event, co-ordinated by Business Link Lincolnshire & Rutland and held in conjunction with Robinsons Mazda, is aiming to raise women's awareness of unsafe situations. A representative from the Leicestershire Police Force will explain the dangers and the best ways to react in a threatening or hostile environment.
Business Women's Link co-ordinator Rajinder Bhuhi said, "As business women we are often required to travel alone, attend meetings in unfamiliar places and leave the office unaccompanied late at night. Although we know these situations are risky, they are equally unavoidable to a certain extent. However, there are things that can be done to lessen the risk and these are what we will be finding out about."
The meeting will also feature a spokesperson from the Inland Revenue who will explore issues surrounding company cars and taxation and a specialist financial executive will discuss the various methods available for financing business transport.
Business Women's Link for Leicestershire was formed earlier this year after research showed there was overwhelming support for a local network to encourage and support women in business. It provides an informal environment for like-minded business women to meet and discuss current issues and business concerns.
