AWARD BRINGS MUSIC TO THE EARS OF SLEAFORD BUSINESS
Celebrations continued into the night as Sleaford-based Bridge Musical Instruments marked its success at the Lincolnshire & Rutland Business Awards 2002.
Delivered by Business Link Lincolnshire & Rutland in association with the Lincolnshire Echo, the awards recognised the hard work and dedication of new and existing businesses in categories from e-business and export success.
Tina McEwen, chief executive of Business Link Lincolnshire & Rutland said, "These awards recognise the time and effort that goes into building a successful business. All the finalists have shown that they are committed to success and are willing to adapt and change in order to achieve that success."
Bridge Musical Instruments are designers, makers and retailers of the professional Bridge range of electric violins, cellos and double basses. They were presented with the E-business Award - which recognises clearly targeted e-business solutions.
Their communicative and interactive website was developed to allow direct marketing and contact with the end user, after standard methods of distributing instruments failed to produce satisfactory sales figures. In order to achieve this, the website was designed to effectively replace the music shop on the street - it allows customers to listen to sound clips of different instruments, order a free trial and change the colour specification of their chosen instrument.
Owners Paul Bridgewater and Ceris Jones said, "We operate in a highly specialised niche market and our website has made a big impact on the prospective customers who can contact us."
The awards were sponsored by Alstom, the Learning & Skills Council Lincolnshire & Rutland, POWER, City of Lincoln Council, Chattertons Solicitors, Pannell Kerr Forster, UK online for business, NatWest, Lincoln Junior Chamber, Lincolnshire Development, West Lindsey District Council and South Holland District Council.
