Celebrating Our Role in City Regeneration

It’s celebration time at hopwood as Leicester Regeneration Company wins a prestigious national award for its work on the urban renaissance of Leicester.
LRC’s team has been absorbed into Prospect Leicestershire, but as Leicester Regeneration Company’s retained PR agency for five years, we were part of the winning team that scooped Partnership of the Year at the Regeneration & Renewal Awards.
Our work for LRC included the Waterside public consultation (which won a CIPR award in its own right) and major community engagement exercises such as The Big Build Live exhibition and conference. As the agency that managed all of LRC’s communications and stakeholder engagement, we’re really proud to have been part of the team, and we’re delighted that we’re still working with many of them in different roles.
John Nicholls, former LRC chief executive, now at Nottingham Regeneration Limited says: “Winning this award, and communicating our story to the people of Leicester would not have been possible without the help of hopwood and the many other people involved. It was a fantastic partnership, and it’s superb to see it recognised in this way.”
LRC beat off stiff competition from six other finalists to take the accolade. The centre of Leicester has seen radical changes with developments such as Colton Square, Highcross and Curve. It was hard to fit everything LRC has achieved into one award entry, and it’s exciting to see Prospect Leicestershire continuing the good work, and expanding it to other areas of the city and county.
It’s not the first time this year that hopwood’s clients have been celebrating award wins. Specialist regeneration developer Blueprint was shortlisted for a Regeneration & Renewal award, only narrowly missing out to the London Olympics in the sustainability category for their No.1 Nottingham Science Park Scheme. They’ve collected awards from UKSPA for Innovation in Sustainability, from the Nottingham Evening Post for Design Excellence and Sustainable Developer of the Year, and for Developer of the Year at the Midlands Property Awards.
hopwood regularly puts together award entries for clients, and our track record of getting shortlisted and winning awards speaks for itself. Getting that kind of third party endorsement for achievement on a project can really make it stand out from the crowd.
